Newell Glass & Locks

Installation Terms & Conditions

These installation terms apply where Newell Glass & Locks Ltd agrees to install products at your property.

1. Measurements and Survey

Website pricing is based on the sizes and specifications provided by you. We may carry out a site survey or verification before production or installation. If the survey identifies size discrepancies, access issues, unsuitable conditions, or additional requirements, the price may change and any additional charges must be paid before work proceeds.

2. Access to the Property

You must provide reasonable, safe, and clear access to the installation area at the agreed time. This includes access for our employees, installers, vehicles, tools, and materials. If we cannot carry out the installation due to access restrictions or unsafe conditions, additional visit or delay charges may apply.

3. Consents and Permissions

You are responsible for obtaining any planning permission, building regulation approval, landlord consent, leaseholder consent, listed building consent, restrictive covenant consent, or any other permission needed for the works. Any cost related to such permissions is your responsibility unless agreed otherwise in writing.

4. Customer Preparations

Before installation begins, you must remove or protect items around the installation area, including curtains, blinds, furniture, ornaments, valuables, alarms, cables, and other belongings. You are responsible for arranging the removal, relocation, or protection of radiators, pipework, electrical services, telephone or broadband cables, aerials, alarms, and similar services where required.

5. Additional Works

If additional works are required, including lintels, structural support, making good, specialist access, additional trims, materials, or repairs, we will tell you where reasonably possible. Such works may be charged in addition to the original order. If a required lintel, structural issue, asbestos, or other hidden condition is discovered during installation, work may stop until the issue is resolved.

6. Asbestos and Unsafe Materials

If asbestos or suspected asbestos is discovered, installation will stop immediately in the affected area. Testing, removal, disposal, and any related costs must be handled by an appropriately qualified third party and are the customer's responsibility unless otherwise required by law.

7. Decoration, Plaster, and Making Good

Installation may affect decorations, plaster, render, tiles, wallpaper, paintwork, or surrounding finishes. Unless agreed in writing, Newell Glass & Locks Ltd is not responsible for plastering, rendering, decorating, refinishing, or touch-ups that are reasonably connected with normal installation. This does not exclude responsibility for damage caused by our failure to use reasonable care.

8. Existing Windows and Doors

We cannot guarantee that existing windows, doors, frames, glass, trims, or hardware removed during replacement will be suitable for reuse. Unless agreed in writing, removal and disposal arrangements will be handled as part of the agreed installation scope only.

9. Installation Suitability

We reserve the right to refuse or pause installation if the property, access, structure, weather conditions, safety conditions, or customer-supplied information make installation unsuitable. Where installation cannot proceed, we will explain the reason and any options available.

10. Timing

We will use reasonable efforts to meet estimated installation dates. Dates may change because of production delays, supplier issues, weather, access, illness, safety concerns, or events outside our control. We are not responsible for indirect losses arising from reasonable installation delays.

11. General Terms

These installation terms are in addition to our Terms & Conditions. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@newellgl.co.uk or call +44 20 8952 1634.
